Ahimsa silk is non-violent in nature as unlike other types of natural silk (mulberry, tussar & muga) it is extracted from the silkworm cocoons without killing the silkworms. The organic Ahimsa yarn is then spun by hand and dyed with natural ingredients such as turmeric, lac and other locally found materials.
