This wonderful 1950s hand painted circle skirt has a bright and pretty abstract floral design that runs over its entire surface. The skirt is on a white cotton base with a swooping deigns that suggest bog bold blooms and leafs over the entire skirt. The waist is defined with a narrow band to cinch on the shape and the skirt has a tremendous amount of fabric. It is all hand painted and beautifully done. It has the older, original Spiegel label in it which suggests to me that the company imported it in to catch the fever of the 1950s tourist market when these were all the rage. A very unusual piece and highly collectible too. Excellent condition
Unlined and closes with a metal zipper and a button at the waist. I believe the zipper has been replaced and the waist and a small portion of fabric has been added to give extra room. Shown over a crinoline that is not included
